Success Story

TJX University Europe in partnership with EFI Training

Logo Tjx

EFI Training works with TJX Europe, parent company of TK Maxx and Homesense, to deliver apprenticeships for entry-level talent in departments including Beauty, Homeware and Menswear.

Since 2018, we've delivered our Level 3 Business Administrator Level 4 Buying & Merchandising  Assistant apprenticeships to more than 80 learners at TJX Europe.

In Spring 2024, the programme was expanded: through TJX Europe's longstanding partnership with The King's Trust (formerly The Prince's Trust), they were able to offer places on the Level 3 Business Administrator programme to four of the charity's candidates.

How it works

Level 3 Business Administrator apprentices rotate through different departments before graduating onto the Level 4 Buying & Merchandising Assistant programme.

Learning through a mix of taught sessions, progress reviews and assignments, the apprentices have the opportunity to build their professional network, learn from peers and complete the apprenticeship as a cohort.

A dedicated EFI Training programme manager and learning mentor from the TJX Learning & Development team offers additional 121 coaching and support, while the learning schedule has the backing of senior stakeholders to ensure delivery of the 20% ‘off-the-job’ requirement.

Senior leaders within TJX Europe have helped raise the profile of the programme internally, which supports positive academic achievement and progression to permanent roles.

WHAT THEY SAY

The apprentices have proven to be a great fit, and it’s added diversity and new energy to the business. The journey they’ve already been on in terms of their confidence feels very exciting, and I’m confident they’re going to have great careers with us.
